On Wednesday, July 2 at 6 Central, we heard first hand stories of life in the Home from alumni Sam Brody and Bettye Sawl Eisner. The panelist shared about their memories from life in the Home, as well as ways their childhood experiences impacted them in their futures. Sam and Bettye were in conversation with Marlene Trestman, author of Most Fortunate Unfortunates: The Jewish Orphans’ Home of New Orleans (LSU Press 2023) and guest curator of the special exhibition.
